I believe in God, The Father almighty, Creator of heaven and earth, and in Jesus Christ, his only Son, our Lord, who was conceived by the Holy Ghost, born of the Virgin Mary, suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, died and was buried; he descended to hell; on the third day he rose again from the dead; he ascended into heaven and is seated at the right hand of God the Father almighty; from there he will come to judge the living and the dead. I believe in the Holy Ghost, the holy catholic Church, the communion of saints, the forgiveness of sins, the resurrection of the body, and life everlasting.
If you or someone you know has doubts about the one True Church being the Holy Catholic Church, follow Cardinal Newman’s example:
Before becoming Catholic, for many years he sought earnestly to discover the True Church by reading history and studying works of the Fathers and discussing the subject with learned friends. At last he exclaimed, “What have I been doing? I have sought by study and discussion to find the truth, but I have not given sufficient time and attention to asking the gift of faith from God.” He at once changed his method and began to ask God earnestly to help him to find the True Church.
His prayers were speedily answered and not only saw the light himself, but became a shinning example to hundreds of others, who followed him.
